Church Leadership Development Certificate

Built with Indigenous cultural relevance at its core, the IAM CLD program prepares students and participants to minister and serve within the local church. Indigenous instructors consider how their classroom, activities, and delivery foster engagement and application to ministry service within Indigenous contexts. 

Courses are 7 weeks in length and offered consecutively. Students can focus on one subject at a time while balancing daily responsibilities. 

Program Features

The Church Leadership Development Certificate (30 hours) will cultivate a strong foundation of Biblical knowledge and leadership skills for men and women in Christian ministry. Whether seeking training for pastoral ministry, church ministry roles, or missions, this program can provide you with learning, development opportunities, and networking with other Indigenous leaders.
IAM is able to offer accredited courses through a partnership with Crown College in Minnesota.

Blended Degree Option

This option can especially benefit those who have already earned college credit.

What is Church Leadership Development?

Church leadership development is about helping people become faithful, effective leaders by strengthening their biblical foundation, ministry skills, and practical ministry skills.

2026- 2027 Courses

Spiritual Development

Begins August 26, 2026 __________________ Focuses on spiritual formation as it relates to personal and corporate identification with Christ. In addition to addressing Biblical principles and spiritual disciplines that govern the character and conduct of Christians, this course provides an introduction to modern classics in spiritual formation.F

Understanding the Old Testament

Begins October 21, 2016 __________________ Examines a biblical interpretation of Old Testament literature with a view toward applying the teaching in contemporary ministry contexts.​

Understanding the New Testament

Begins January 13, 2027 __________________ Examines the history and content of the New Testament and provides guidance for interpretation for understanding and daily life application.

Biblical Interpretation 

Begins March 10, 2027 __________________ Designed to give the student practical experience in interpreting the Bible. A variety of observation and interpretation strategies are introduced in a discovery process with emphasis on the exegetical approach to Bible study. Several passages of Scripture are used to illustrate this approach.
